The Fulda Exelero high-performance tyre proves impressive in independent tests showing superb wet weather performance.
In the September issue, renowned tuning magazine, "Performance BMW" has praised the Exelero, in combining all the fundamental aspects of the tyre in dry and wet conditions .
Performance BMW visited MIRA to test that the Exelero lives up to its reputation, providing improved levels in grip, handling and comfortable braking on wet roads.
The magazine used their own BMW E36 project car, using original fit tyres, to conduct a series of wet braking and wet handling tests. They went on to repeat the test, only this time, using the Exeleros. Performance BMW credited Fulda by stating; "the difference was phenomenal."
The article went on to say: "The Fulda Exelero proved the strong in the wet-braking test with so much more grip and contact compared to the previous tyres."
Exelero's wet weather grip
The Exelero's wet grip compound provides shorter braking distance on wet roads. Due to the tyre having a compound with relative low elasticity, it remains attached to the road longer, providing more contact and better grip. The Exelero's comparable performance in the wet was demonstrated in the test. Performance BMW assured its readers by stating; "they are certainly proved to be strong in this area, with braking distances dramatically reduced once the E36's rubber had been switched over."
The MIRA testing facility proved the perfect testing ground in demonstrating the overall performance of the Exelero in wet conditions. Performance BMW praised the overall handling, informing its readers, "there was considerably less tail-out action with the Exeleros, but that just goes to show how much effort has gone into making the tyre more predictable, precise and stable."
The combination of the Exelero's unique dual pitch profile, wet grip compound, and high performance carcass, is in perfect balance for stability and aquaplaning resistance. The Exelero's dramatic tread pattern offers lower noise levels in the cabin.

Germany's leading testing, evaluation, and certification organisation, the TUV, awarded the Fulda Exelero with the official TUV Certification for Performance and Manufacturing. A first for a tyre manufacturer!
