Best note in fuel consumption
And so it proved in the recent trial – in which seven fuel-saving tyres and one standard tyre used as control, competed with one another – that many an alleged green tyre was a sham. One “wannabe fuel-saver” even increased consumption, rather than reducing it. For AutoBild it was a clear case of false labelling.
Others did prove their saving potential, but then turned out to be a safety risk with overlong braking distances in the wet.
The Fulda EcoControl however, thanks to its new silica compound, proved to be a model. In the discipline of average consumption, the tyre got a straight first.
Nevertheless it still shone with short braking distances on the wet test road. Result: after the German automobile clubs ADAC and ACE, which both rated it as “highly recommendable” and Stiftung Warentest declaring it simply “good”, the AutoBild editorial staff came to a similar result. With an overall result of 2+, the EcoControl has once again shown its qualities as an all-rounder that saves fuel without loss of safety.
