It’s official: length matters!

When asked in a recent survey what people most associate with the measurement “six metres”, the ‘length of two cars’ was the most common response. The Spaniards topped the results with 51%, followed by the UK with 42%. Poland and Germany came a close third and fourth with 39% and 38% respectively, and Italy were not far behind with 30%. Perhaps the average car size is smaller in Italy than elsewhere in Europe! Other bizarre answers to the survey question included: the height of a giraffe; the width of a football goal; the width of my house; and the length covered by a snail in one hour.

 

Germans choose love over money, according to Fulda survey

Contrary to general expectations, romance is clearly more important to Germans than money, according to a recent Fulda tyre survey. Given an extra €80 per year, 70% of Germans would prefer to go out for a romantic dinner with their partner rather than invest their money. Germans also proved that they are more likely to buy lottery tickets (four per cent) rather than donate to charity (two per cent). Across the whole of Europe, only the Spanish (76%) beat the Germans in the romance stakes, followed by the UK (66%), Italy (62%) and then Poland (34%).

The British, it seems, have two passions: romance and gambling! In a survey commissioned by Fulda, 66% of British people claim that they would take their partner out for a romantic dinner if they were given an extra €80 to spend a year, while 11% said they would spend the extra money on lottery tickets.

 

Italians show their kindness, according to Fulda survey

According to a recent Fulda tyre survey, 11% of Italians would donate to charity if they were given an extra €80 to spend per year, compared to only five per cent of people in the UK, three per cent in Poland, two per cent in Germany, and only one per cent in Spain.  

Romantic restaurant goers in Spain

The Spanish are the continent’s undisputed romantics, according to a recent survey carried out in five European countries by Fulda. Given an extra €80 to spend, more than three quarters (76%) of those surveyed in Spain would take their partners out for a nice meal. This was closely followed by the Germans (70%), the British (66%), the Italians (62%) and the Poles (34%). Overall, however, the Poles (45%) would rather invest the money than spend it on their significant other.

Poles, it seems, put money ahead of romance. If they had an €80 extra to spend a year, almost half (45%) would invest it rather than take someone special out for a romantic dinner.
