1960

Start of production of the new Fulda car Tyre 'Diadem'

The new Fulda Diadem features lower aspect ratios and rounded shoulders.


1961

For truck tyre testing Fulda acquires a streamlined bus which runs up to 140 km/h

The special vehicle is equipped with plexi-glass wheel arches, so that Fulda engineers can observe the tyre behaviour during the ride. The bus is painted in the Fulda colours red and yellow and is commonly know as the 'FULDA BLITZ'


1962

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company takes over Fulda

The share of capital of Fulda is taken over by Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, from Akron/Ohio.


1964

Fulda produces its first set of TV spots 'Fulda Reifen halten und greifen', meaning Fulda tyres grip and last

The first series of FULDA TV spots feature 6 films of 20 seconds, showing the performance of Fulda tyres in different though weather conditions. Each spot ends with the Fulda slogan 'Fulda Reifen greifen und halten!' (Fulda tyres grip and last)


Fulda becomes the only tyre manufacturer allowed to equip the Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman

Fulda produces special tyres for the Mercedes 600 Pullman. For the standard edition the care features the 9.00 H 15 Diadem Nylon with a ply rate of 6PR (6 layers of nylon). For the armoured edition, weighting around 10 tons, Fulda offeres a tyre with a ply rate of 10 PR. (Note that at that time a normal car tyre had a maximum ply rate of 4PR)


1968

Fulda launches the Fulda Spectral, the first fibre-glass belted tyre
