The Fulda Carat Progresso has been ranked best in wet braking in the Which? Magazine test on tyres.
Which? tested a number of tyres including Continental, Kumho and Hankook. The test put 32 tyre brands to the test in two popular sizes, 205/55 R16 W and 185/60 R14 H.
The highly respected Which? Magazine carried out the tyre tests to bring mid range and lesser known brands to the forefront, giving consumers knowledge of the wider industry.
The magazine tested the tyres in seven situations with the Fulda performing exceptionally in the wet braking test. The tyre came top of the group and stopped an impressive 23.53 meters ahead of the worst performing tyre, that is equal to over three routemaster buses, according to Which?
“The success of Fulda’s Carat Progresso is due to its tread compound with high hysteresis contact formula, this increases the tyres contact patch leading to shorter wet braking distances as the test proved” stated Kate Rock, Communications Specialist for Fulda.
“The Fulda Carat Progresso is also designed for better Aquaplaning resistance. The directional tread design and deep, circumferential tread grooves of the tyre helped the tyre perform well in the wet grip test on the straight and on a bend” Kate concluded.
The Fulda Carat Progresso is available in 56 sizes, from 13 to 16 inches and provides a varied selection of load allowances accommodating today’s modern car design for higher performance.
