EU tire ratings

The EU tire ratings can help you to make an informed choice when selecting tires. They work in a similar way to the energy ratings found on kitchen appliances.

Fuel efficiency is a measure of the tire's rolling resistance. A tire with low rolling resistance is more fuel efficient since it requires less energy to roll. Fuel efficiency is rated from A (highest rating) to G (lowest rating).

Wet grip

Wet grip is a measure of the tire's braking ability on wet roads. Wet grip is rated from A (highest rating) to F (lowest rating).

Noise

The external noise generated by the tire, measured in decibels. The black sound waves indicate the noise class, from 1 (quiet) to 3 (noisy).

Value ranges

EU ratings for a tire can differ from one size to the next. If you have not specified your full tire size, we display the range of values for all sizes of that particular tire.

Additional performance ratings

We test our tires on over 50 aspects of tire performance in all types of road conditions. The additional performance ratings indicate the tire's capabilities in areas that are not addressed by the EU ratings.
